The renovation bonus and the hotel furniture bonus are among the measures taken by the Italian Government to support tourism and improve the hotel offer. After the pandemic, some concessions have been introduced to revamp tourist industry, one of the sectors that have been most affected by the consequences of the health emergency. Hotels have the opportunity to modernize and renovate their furnishings at advantageous conditions. Let’s find out what the hotel furniture bonus is and how it works.
Renovation bonuses and hotel furniture bonuses
The hotel furniture bonus is contained in the Sostegni bis decree, which confirmed for 2021 and 2022 the possibility to get a 65% off reduction, which can be used as compensation. The measure includes building renovation, energy efficiency and the installation of solar panels. If renovation or extraordinary maintenance of the building is carried out, the 65% bonus is applied to the purchase of furniture for the hotel. Together with the renovation, it is also possible to compare the furniture for rooms, hall, reception and furnishing accessories, achieving a complete modernization of the facility.
Who can benefit from the hotel furniture bonus
The hotel furniture bonus in 2021 and 2022 can be requested by all accommodation facilities that are open from January 1st 2012 and that have at least 7 rooms for the overnight stay of guests. In addition to hotels, the bonus can be accessed by agritourisms, spas and open-air facilities, such as tourist resorts and campsites. The spending limit is 307,693.30 euros, which entitles you to a maximum deduction of 200,000 euros. The news introduced by the latest decree is the possibility to get the hotel furniture bonus even in a single solution and no longer distributed in 10 annual installments. The tax credit can be used as compensation in the F24 form, using the telematic services of the Revenue Agency.
The hypothesis of the super hotel bonus
The hotel furniture bonus could be up to 80%. In fact, the Italian Government is now working on a new decree, that will extend the super bonus formula for renovation to other sectors. The Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia has given the possibility of an important tax relief with simplified rules. This deduction would be extended to the purchase of furniture and lighting fixtures. Ansa reports these statements on the superbonus hotels (link). The resources to finance the facility are already included in the recovery plan approved by the European Union. 1.8 billion euros are foreseen for hotels renovation. The deduction of the hotel furniture bonus would be used to renovate the furnishings, for energy efficiency and to replace the light fixtures. Hotels and accommodation facilities in general, such as bed and breakfasts and agritourisms, would be allowed to access the superbonus.
